Dr. Gregory Carr

My name is Gregory Carr. I’ve been blessed with a beautiful and supportive wife Jenna and three amazing kids, Brinley, Julianne, and McKay. We spend a lot of time together enjoying the outdoors, playing sports, camping and going on vacations (especially going to Bear Lake, Disneyland, and the beach). Our main goal as a family is to lead happy, productive lives and to enrich both ourselves and those around us.

A Little Background

I was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah where I played high school basketball and baseball. After high school, I attended Brigham Young University-Idaho (formally known as Ricks Junior College) for one year on a baseball scholarship. I then moved to The Philippines to serve a mission for my church for two years where I became fluent in Tagalog (Filipino) and learned many valuable life lessons. I returned home to continue my education and baseball career at Brigham Young University-Idaho for one more year. After that, I decided to give up my dream of becoming a Major League Baseball Player in order to pursue my dream of becoming a dentist. While finishing up my schooling at BYU-Provo, I got braces to close some spaces that I had between my teeth. Until that time in my life, I had never considered orthodontics as a career. As an adult patient with braces, I was amazed and so intrigued by how teeth are moved around in order to give a beautiful smile. I also got to experience firsthand how having straight, beautiful teeth can affect a person’s life. It was my very own orthodontic experience that got me interested in orthodontics.

My Schooling

I then attended Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA where I graduated as co-valedictorian. I earned my Masters Degree and certificate in orthodontics from Saint Louis University. After graduation, I practiced orthodontics in Southern California. Even though my family loved living in Southern California (especially because we were so close to Disneyland and the beach), we missed the beautiful Utah mountains and wanted to live closer to our families. We moved to Utah in May 2014 and have loved being back here! We have lots of family from Roy, West Haven, and West Weber so we have spent a lot of time in this area of Utah, and we love it here! I feel very fortunate and blessed to practice in such a great place and to be able to associate with the amazing people that live here.

I Truly Enjoy Orthodontics

Although I had some idea, little did I know how much I was truly going to enjoy orthodontics. I can honestly say that as a Roy, UT orthodontist I’m excited to go into the office each day to see my patients and their families, and to address any challenges they present. My work ethic, drive for excellence, and desire to provide the highest quality of patient satisfaction are some of my greatest assets. We've been seeing Dr.Carr for 2 years. We couldn't be more satisfied with the results of my sons teeth. Dr. Carr has assured me and my son from the very beginning his under bite would be fixed in the matter of months and it was. Other orthodontist have told me my son would have to bear head gear. I never thought I would be able to get rid of my jaw problems with TMJ I came to dr Carr as a last resort but I should have gone to him first I had been to two orthodontist and multiple dentist and he was the only one so confident in not just fixing my over bit but fixing my slightly curved front teeth but I had my braces on for a year and a half and I have never felt better I’m so thankful that I came to dr Carr every appointment he genuinely cares highly recommended

Carr orthodontics is the best!! Everyone genuinely cares about you and how your feeling. Doctor Carr gave me the best advice about rubber bands to help me have my braces done fast and efficient. The process was wonderful and satisfying. When I had plans I was able to change my appointments and get in at different times easily. I’m so glad my overbite is gone thanks to Doctor Carr!

I got my braces on from here it was a really good experience (aside from the pain braces bring) but i felt encouraged and supported by the people here and they’re reward system works a lot (after each appointment they give plastic coins and you can redeem them for stuff) my teeth went from being HORRIBLY messed up to really straight, would recommend! Edit: they also gave me a 2 liter bottle of root beer for getting my braces off

My daughter was really needing braces, and so we came to Dr. Carr, and fell in love with the office. The staff is amazing, and Dr. Carr is so kind, and positive. She hasn’t always been the best with rubber bands, but he and the assistants were always very positive and encouraging, and we never felt bad or judged for missing rubber bands. This office is amazing, and my daughter’s teeth look AMAZING!!! I will forever recommend Dr. Carr and his office to people who need braces!

I would RECOMMEND Dr. Carr Orthodontics in Roy, Utah, to anyone needing braces. Dr. Carr and all of his staff are the most caring and friendly people I have ever met. My teeth are so straight and smooth; they feel and look awesome. Dr. Carr even made the tops of my teeth look more aesthetically pleasing by removing the ridges. Dr. Carr put a permanent retainer on the bottom and gave me a removable retainer. My experience at Dr. Carr's was wonderful. He used a few traditional braces, but most had a gate, making my time in braces more comfortable. Thank you, Dr Carr, for my beautiful smile!! He was able to fix my open bite without surgery! Everything looks great and I'm so happy! Edit: I just wanted to come back and say that it's been 6 years now since I got my braces off and my open bite fixed! I don't wear the retainer anymore (after about 2 years of use), and there was some shifting due to that, but my bite has remained closed, and my teeth are still pretty much straight!! I can't thank Dr. Carr enough for taking a chance on my orthodontics and NOT breaking my jaw like so many others wanted to do! I'm still so happy with the outcome!! THANK YOU
